Unsustainable Seas

Aquaculture uses up to 2kg of marine caught fish to produce 1kg of farmed fish, of which we eat only 60%, the rest being waste nutrients. 25% of all marine catch is used in animal feed preparations; fish stocks globally are in rapid decline.

Blue - AgriProtein

A mature AgriProtein based industry could eliminate the need for almost all fishmeal trawling, protecting our seas, refreshing natural stocks, while sustainably supplying farmed fish with their required nutrients.

Land Pressure

Plant based proteins are less effective in feeds than fishmeal and increasingly expensive to produce as they consume large quantities of land, water and diesel in their production. Farmland globally has become highly efficient using satellite plotting and GM crops; the only way to increase output is to turn more natural forest and nature over to commercial farming.

Green - AgriProtein

Larvae protein has a very similar chemical and amino acid composition to fishmeal. The future of protein production lies in recycling waste nutrients. AgriProtein production has a tiny environmental footprint, and inputs are existing waste nutrients.
